Providing legal services to the North West

Private Capital

North Ainley Halliwell’s Private Capital Department has many years experience advising clients in the administration of their affairs. Many of our team are members of the highly respected Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Our services range from the preparation of simple Wills to complex tax planning and wealth management.

Our team of specialist Lawyers, led by department head Zoë Ashton, are able to tailor their advice to a client’s own particular circumstances and needs. If necessary we can make home visits and also visits to hospital if the circumstances require urgent action to be taken.

We appreciate that advice is often required in difficult circumstances and pride ourselves on our caring and compassionate approach. We take the time to listen to your wishes and help you make the most of your assets for future generations. Our service is efficient and offers excellent value for money.

The Department’s areas of expertise include the following:

  • Making a Will
  • Trusts and Tax Planning
The creation of lifetime trusts and advice upon various devices to mitigate the liability to inheritance tax, income tax and capital gains tax both on death and lifetime transactions.
  • Probate and Estate Management
The administration of a person’s financial affairs following their death, including the obtaining of a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration if required.
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a document whereby a person can appoint one or more people to deal with their affairs whilst they are still alive. An LPA can deal with a person’s financial matters and also their welfare and care. If a person no longer has the mental capacity to execute an LPA an application can be made to the Office of the Public Guardian for a Deputy to be appointed to deal with their financial affairs.
  • Nursing Home Costs
Advice upon planning for later years and the availability for assistance with the payment of nursing home fees.
