Four months ago I slipped on some liquid on the floor of a supermarket. I was five months pregnant at the time and bruised my elbow very badly and am still seeing the doctor about shooting pains up my arm. The supermarket said I would be contacted by their insurance company, but I have heard nothing further. Should I contact a solicitor about compensation?

My husband recently left me. He had several catalogue accounts and he told me to notify the catalogue companies because he didn’t want further contact with me. So I told them his new address and where he works, but the post is being returned marked ‘not known’ and, since he works for a family firm, his employers are denying any knowledge of him.
